The Weeping Lecturer

In the morning, the heavens opened and it began to rain. Bella grabbed her umbrella to get to school, as she walked out of the hostel the first

A trap

Ichie Obiajuru was a very rich man but people had always seen him as wicked and very mean. He was ever ready and willing to lend money to the villagers because he was confident of his outrageous conditions and the treatment he would give to anyone who failed to comply as at when  due.

He had been seizing his debtors lands which they had used as collateral when they couldn't pay him back, he claims their land or whatever thing they held sacred. His other means of retrieving his money is by inviting the police on the matter. "the fear of Ichie Obiajuru is the beginning of wisdom," villagers always say.

Everyone was speaking ill of him, yet people who have not tasted his wrath were always willing to go to him to borrow. Even people who had tasted his wrath still run to him for support, even with hard conditions without considering the consequences. As the saying, "a man will not because of the fear of gunshot refused to go for war."

Ekwurobia was in need of money for his project and school fee. He ran to Ichie Obiajuru for help in spite of his parents warning. As soon as Ichie saw him, his spirit accepted him, he was attracted to Ekwurobia. Ichie saw him as a promising young man even with or without him disclosed his course of study. Ichie promised to give him contract once he graduates from the University as an Engineer.

He gave him the sum of three hundred thousand, Ekwurobia went back to school. Ekwuruobia met Olaedo, who was Ego's friend and Ego was Ekwurobi's girlfriend. It was in their introduction that Ekwuruobia got to know that Olaedo was Iche's only daughter.

Olaedo began to nurse feelings for Ekwurobia knowing fully well that he was her girlfriend's boyfriend. Olaedo allowed him drive her car. She was always uncomfortable to see them together.

They decided to travel to the village after the semester's exam. Ekwurobia decided to go with Ego while Olaedo said she would go with them at least to visit Ichie her father. "mama this is the girl i have been telling you about that has been helping me, her name is Ego," Ekwurobia said. Her mother was very happy, she embraced Ego, Olaedo became angry and decided to go home.

Ekwurobia drove her home and returned. "father it's Ekwurobia I want to marry," said Ego. "my daughter he is all yours,"said the father. "It's in our agreement. He swore to me, so his refusal will bring a devastating consequences," he said.

Ekwurobia went with his father, Omenauko to inform him of the arrangement of Palm wine carrying of his son to her betrothed. "no, Ekwurobia has a wife here already, they were still confused. They left Ichie's house in saturated angry.

"Did you remember taking any oath," Omenauko asked. "No papa," he replied. "do you remember that night you returned home with money very drunk," he asked. It was then that his eyes cleared him his doubt.

He confessed that Ichie got him intoxicated with alcohol and showed him a paper to sign and brought a cola for him to swell. "oath under the influence of alcohol? That man is mischievous I have always known," said Omenauko. "little wonder, the little bird dancing somewhere must have someone blowing the flute for it," said
Omenauko.

They were in dilemma, why would Ichie be desperate to buy a husband for his daughter? something must be wrong with that his daughter, but my son will never fall for his trap. My son must marry Ego his love. Such oath taken unaware, under the influence  of alcohol is never effective," Nwanyiukwu said.

Ego could neither tell them what is wrong with Olaedo because she took oath of secrecy never to reveal Ola's ailment to anyone, if she ever did, she will die. They were between the devil and the deep blue sea.

Things you should expect when you connect with your spot

Get out of the rat race. After all, if you win, you will simply be the big rat. Stop running in the competition. The only person you should compete with is yourself. "how well am I performing in my leadership spot," is what you should ask yourself. You have to know that the battery does not compete with a spark plug, because the battery knows the spark plug can never be a battery, and so on. They sit in the engine in their spots and serve the engine their gift without competing

Why does negative behaviour continue?

It works. There is some kind of payoff, some type of momentary satisfaction that is derived from not changing. The reward might be financial or psychological. Some people will continue unproductive behaviour to seek approval, acceptance, praise, or love. Others continue their unacceptable actions out of pride, greed or a sense of personal fulfilment. They may oppress others with their need to always be right because they treasure being right- even if it destroys a relationship.

Adding value to other people is the work of a positive influencer

As you move up to the higher levels of influence and become an active influencer, you can begin to have a positive influence on people and add value on their lives. That's true for any positive influencer. The baby-sitter who reads to the child encourages him to love books and helps him become a lifelong learner. The teacher who puts his faith, confidence, and love on a child helps the child to feel valued and good about herself. That boss who delegates to the employees and gives them authority as well as responsibility enlarges their horizons and empowers them to become better workers and people. Even the parents who know how to give their children grace and when to, also help them to stay open and communicative. All of these people add lasting value to the lives of other people. One thing is this, we don't know what kind of influence you have on others, today as you read this article. Your actions may touch the lives of thousands of people. Perhaps you use the opportunity
