In the morning, the heavens opened and it began to rain. Bella grabbed her umbrella to get to school, as she walked out of the hostel the first
Few days after Jackie told Osei that she was pregnant for him, Osei relocated to Accra. She waited for him to come and see her parents as he promised but didnt't see him. She had to travel the long distance of Kumasi, Ashanti Region
to Sunyani, Brong Ahafo Region to see him.
When she got there his door was unlocked so she began to knock at the door. She knocked for about twenty minutes.
"young lady, do you want to bring down this house? Can't you see that the room is 'to let' huh? So,
stop banging at the door like you are myopic?" a man came out of his room and warned. "But are you here for the house?" he later asked. It was then that Jackie noticed 'room to let' on the door post.
She felt the whole world was against her. She also felt deserted. "Osei has killed me. What will i tell my father? What will i tell my mother? God help me!" she continued lamenting.
Jackie later decided to go back to her parents and face the consequence of her act.
Thompson started growing up rapidly, at five his mother, Jackie died. Loosing his mother to the cold hands of death, life really dealt with him, even though he was taken to the orphanage when his grandparents passed away. At the orphanage he grew up becoming very creative. He was very good at drawing. He later had further training on art work and designing.
He left the orphanage when he was eighteen. So, from Kumasi he traveled to Accra where he based. In Accra, Thompson opened a very big gallery shop.
"this sculpture is very beautiful!" a pretty young girl of sixteen said in amazement. She turned to see the facial look of the great artist. "can you make me a portrait?" she asked.
"of course yes, i can," he hurriedly replied. Ophelia was such a sophisticated young girl. He felt awful coming in contact with such a girl.
"she even came with her car," Thompson whispered to himself when she left his gallery. He admired her so much that he couldn't get her off his heart.
It was as if their hearts beat for each other, Ophelia couldn't sleep that night, it was Thompson on her mind. Crazy it might sound, they couldn't resist the urge. It was hard for them to control their feelings for each other. Could it be love or lust?
"Thompson i am pregnant for you," Ophelia said frowning her face. "that is good news. Let's go immediately to see your parents," Thompson gladly said.
" where are you from and whose son are you?" asked Ophelia's father.
"i am from Kumasi, Ashanti Region. My late mother's name is Jackie Temang," Thompson said. Osei's stomach churned-up, he left them to his room with his head bowed in thought. He was thinking on how to hide the truth from them but he later thought it was wise to let them know so that they would start loving and seeing each other not as lovers but...
He returned to the sitting room, "Thompson is your elder brother, i am sorry it happened this way," Osei said with unsteady voice.
"How father? What are you saying? Tell me it's not true, tell me it's a joke please father. In fact, it can't be," she said bitterly and continued, "i can't be pregnant for my brother?" she lamented. The family found themselves in a most awkward predicament. As they were mourning, Ophelia tore her blouse and ran out of the compound, Thompson ran after her.
Moral Lesson:
It is good for us to always be responsible for our actions.
Never deny a pregnancy you know belongs to you because it could be disasterous when denied...
