Would it change how you interacted with your family, friends, and work associate? Would you rather be kept in dark than face the pain and reality of your departure?
I still believe that most people would rather hear the truth than be lied to. No matter how difficult or painful truth might be, it is better than
deceit. It is better to be told that we have something hanging out of our nose than to look into th mirror after an important meeting and see the offending objects ourselves.
Therefore, it's time to take an honest look at your life. It might be painful and disconcerting, But in the end the truth will set you free. See also "facts of life"
Often we make poor choices because we want immediate gratification. We want the choice of immediate satisfaction of eating pizza now rather than the delayed gratification of losing weight, which takes self-denial, time, and physical exercise. We choose to yell and throw tantrums because we want our way once rather than the delayed gratification of working at a relationship.
Consider someone training for the Olympics. How often they deny their immediate desires for the goal of winning? How much self-discipline do they exercise to become the best the can be? Think about how many hours, days and months they exercise and practice for a few moments of glory.
However, these athletes make choices that will affect their future in a positive way.
Now, let's consider some possible reasons for not making good choices as a starting point. One reason you have been struggling with positive choices may be your relationship with our Creator. Because it's possible you have grown up knowing Him intellectually but not personally.
Another reason for the poor choices maybe lie. So, drop this attitude now that you may make good choices.
Another reason maybe when you always desire to have something good but do not consider the "necessary actions" you take to achieve them, then it serves as a deterrent to making good choices that will affect your future in a positive way.
