Why you should not strive to be great

Strive not to be great but to be serving: Not how much money can we get from a customer, but how much better can we serve the customer? Let our question always be, how can we make customers' lives easier and more convenient? Let your concern be—how can we give them better quality? It is possible that, if the organizations of the world strive to become servant leaders, they will become great companies in the generation. What this implies is this—if you want to be great serve. Learn how to serve. Servant
leadership is very necessary for every great leader aspirant.

It is a true belief that the demise of any organization is when individuals who are more concerned about the organization than they are about the market that they serve become the heads of it. Ref: SERVANT LEADERSHIP.

Traditional belief is that leaders benefit from followers, the lorded it over the people but claimed that their motivation was really to help them. Using people for their own purposes and benefits and pretended it was for the people's benefit. 

Feeding off people's fears to intimidate them. And threatening people to maintain control.

No one can take your unique spot of gifting and you cannot take anyone's spot either—because these places—these positions of authority—greatness and leadership belong to each one of us specially designed for that particular spot of gifting. You were built with it. Our Creator already deposited it in you. It's left for you to manifest it. Our Creator pre-designed your spot before he made you . He made you to fit the spot. You don't just go looking for it. It's in you! 

Leadership is not for you but for others. This is because what you were born to do is to serve. Your gift is not for you. It is there so that you can serve it to others. Truly, leadership is like a smile—when you smile others can see it, but you cannot. And again, it benefits others than it does you. As the vehicle does not exist just to get itself from place to place but to transport people from place to place—so is leadership. Leadership is service. You have to get up and carry people along with your gift. To inspire, motivate, change lives and do it to the fullest. Your time starts now!
