How to find the right job
It is true that next to salvation, marriage, and your family, your vocation is the most important thing in your life. Because of that I would have to give you the practical suggestions.
It may interest you to know that finding a lifetime vocation is really not too difficult. But don't expect it to be the dramatic thing it is for some people. Most of us hear our Creator by the gentle urging of our hearts, our burden that he puts into our hearts to do
something. But as we walk by faith, moving in the direction of that burden, we gradually find ourselves doing that will. But it's unfortunate that most of us, finding the will of God is not the electrifying experience of the moment, but a continuing process over a long period of time.
We climb the mountain at hand only to find it leads to the next mountains. Then when we get to a central point we can look back and say—thank you Lord, for your faithful leading.
But the problem with most of us is that we are always in a hurry. Our Creator never rushes. He is often interested in our daily dependence on Him than in all of the specifics.
The only reason He seldom gives us much advance warning or leading us about His will is because He knows that even if we saw a ten year blueprint, we would be off trying to do it and seldom check in at headquarters until we completed it or ran into a problem. Finding His will for your life is not only the best possible way to live; it should also bring you closer to Him, yes!
Once you have committed yourself to live the kind of life described which is—to do good. You cannot go wrong. That doesn't mean you won't have problems or face obstacles. This is because I have never known anyone who accomplished anything for our Creator—great or small, who didn't find obstacles in his path. Challenges and obstacles sure will come your way. Always expect that.
Steps that will guide you to finding your right vocation
Step 1
Establish your primary purpose: You have to find out first what your real purpose in changing jobs or finding a new vocation is. Once you have determined that your primary purpose is to use your gift and position to impact in lives then and only then are you ready to find a different and better position.
After which, now you prioritize those on the top of your list from the contacts you have got and begin to contact them. If you thought you would perform well through further learning, then you can get specialized training or development courses to improve yourself, your skill on the job. Don't forget that you have been deposited of certain basic skills. You will never get more than He has given you. All you need is training, discipline and practice you sure can refine those skills.
Step 6
Have faith and keep waiting for open door: This is another step. This is when you are done with the investigation process.
Step 7
Anticipation of a better future: Here, while you wait you do it with much confidence. Though it's one thing to be concerned with the future and another thing to worry about the future. But have a peaceful heart and wait patiently for the future to unleash its good on you hopefully.

Once you have determined that your primary purpose is to use your gift and position to impact in lives then and only then are you ready to find a different and better position.
It's obvious that more money, better opportunity for advancement or more enjoyable work are not good answers in themselves. You have to first settle that matter of whose servant you are and who is first in your life. Then you can get on with what is second. It is normal that you may need more money, better opportunity but assuredly our Creator knows that too.
However, learn to acknowledge the first thing first. Which is to serve Him anywhere and position you find yourself. This alone will save you many problems and the stress. This same rule will help guide you in the kind of employment you seek. Which is you won't engage yourself in illegal or harmful products that take lives. This is because there are some things more important in life than money, of course yes!
Step 2
Evaluate your temperament: Remember temperaments analysis see also "Why you act the way you do" this will help you discover your position and help you determine your temperament as to fit in rightly—which is your key to your vocational aptitude. With the knowledge you would gather from the context "temperaments blend" you would be able to tell generally what kind of vocation best suits your needs. If it happened that you are not content with your present job, your temperament test may reveal you are not in the right type of job.
Step 3
Why you have to pray: Pray here you are expected to trust, commit and acknowledge God. It is what asking our Creator is based upon. If really you found yourself unemployed or you got dissatisfaction where you are working, all you need is this principle—pray. He would always remove discontentment and or open door to new and better opportunity.
Step 4
Learn to share your burden with a friend you trust:
Always share your concern with a friend. Those you trust. This time forget about temperament, you sure will find it helpful to share your problem with trusted friend close to you, it does you good. It's said that problem shared is problem half solved. Let another know your burden when you find one. Usually it is helpful just to verbalize to another person your innermost thoughts. And those who find that kind of talk the most difficult are the very ones who need it most.
But be very careful with the person you share or you seek counsel from. Like it has been mentioned earlier there is benefit in sharing your burden—talking out your burden or sharing it with a good friend does not just help you but it helps you clarify your thinking. Also alerting others of opportunities.
Step 5
You need to investigate: After sharing your burden, you don't just fold your arms, sit back and relax, "manna" does not fall from the sky this time. "Heaven" helps those who help themselves. Remember that our Creator Himself frowns at laziness. That you pray does not mean you won't work on getting a job. This time you are expected to plan, get contacts, newspapers and magazines. Read advertisements. And give them a try. You now make a list of the kind of job you want or you think you would enjoy doing. Because every employee's performance is measured through his or her job satisfaction.
