The Weeping Lecturer

In the morning, the heavens opened and it began to rain. Bella grabbed her umbrella to get to school, as she walked out of the hostel the first

What habit do you desire to change?

The mind unlearns with difficulty what has long been impressed on it. A nail is driven out by another nail; habit is overcome by habit. It takes approximately some days to firmly establish patterns of behaviour.

For example, let's take smoking. When a person smokes their first cigarette, it is not a pleasant experience. With the first attempt at inhaling, the individual coughs, chokes, and his or her body rebels at having smoke in the lungs.

It's good to know this, it is only by
repeated attempts that people learn how to bring smoke into their bodies without coughing. Why would someone keep up this type of behaviour? Because there is a reward. It may be in the effects received from the alkaloid poison in the guise of inspiration. Or that smoking could help the individual feel accepted by a certain group. The person may believe smoking is cool. Regardless of the said motivation, in few weeks of smoking, an individual can be locked into a smoking habit that may control him or her for a long time.

Sometimes, some people develop smoking habit because they come from a family of smokers. But later in life you can see the effect on them especially when it has to do with lungs problem. In spite of the effect they may still want to attempt perhaps with the thought that it is the in-thing to do. Bearing in mind the dangerous effect, so why would you deliberately do that to your body with a cigarette? is it not better you stop the behaviour before it became a habit. Likewise other behaviour—habits.

The only one problem we have is that we always want to taste and see before we could learn from the mistakes of others.

How do we break habit patterns? It is simply by establishing new behaviour and ending old behaviours. So, the next question is, how long does it take? Just few weeks—very short interval of time. But with many habits, this few weeks interval of change are difficult. A swearing habit does not end overnight. Giving up drugs or alcohol are not pleasant experiences since they create a dependency in the body.

When it comes to the process of change it is important to be wise. This is because once we try to withdraw from a particular act that we are a kind of addicted to, the withdrawal symptom is not always an easy thing to contempt with. Because once we determine to change our behaviour, we will find it a difficult task to complete. Let's say the beginning of the few weeks of attempting to change are very critical. There will be strong desires to stay with the old way because change doesn't happen quickly. But don't give up at that point. It does take time.

Now, do you consider some areas of your life you would like to change or modify? If you are feeling down or discouraged already, there is hope for you. Is really possible? Of course yes, you can feel great in few weeks—just few days are involved. Why not give it a try. Start now!

Positive attitude is a product of belief

Things you should expect when you connect with your spot

Get out of the rat race. After all, if you win, you will simply be the big rat. Stop running in the competition. The only person you should compete with is yourself. "how well am I performing in my leadership spot," is what you should ask yourself. You have to know that the battery does not compete with a spark plug, because the battery knows the spark plug can never be a battery, and so on. They sit in the engine in their spots and serve the engine their gift without competing

Why does negative behaviour continue?

It works. There is some kind of payoff, some type of momentary satisfaction that is derived from not changing. The reward might be financial or psychological. Some people will continue unproductive behaviour to seek approval, acceptance, praise, or love. Others continue their unacceptable actions out of pride, greed or a sense of personal fulfilment. They may oppress others with their need to always be right because they treasure being right- even if it destroys a relationship.

Adding value to other people is the work of a positive influencer

As you move up to the higher levels of influence and become an active influencer, you can begin to have a positive influence on people and add value on their lives. That's true for any positive influencer. The baby-sitter who reads to the child encourages him to love books and helps him become a lifelong learner. The teacher who puts his faith, confidence, and love on a child helps the child to feel valued and good about herself. That boss who delegates to the employees and gives them authority as well as responsibility enlarges their horizons and empowers them to become better workers and people. Even the parents who know how to give their children grace and when to, also help them to stay open and communicative. All of these people add lasting value to the lives of other people. One thing is this, we don't know what kind of influence you have on others, today as you read this article. Your actions may touch the lives of thousands of people. Perhaps you use the opportunity
