The Weeping Lecturer

In the morning, the heavens opened and it began to rain. Bella grabbed her umbrella to get to school, as she walked out of the hostel the first

Mother In-law To Be Surprised My Engagement Night

The sky was gathering its cloud, the weather was changing; daylight gradually turning into darkness. Oh, my God why is that look on the face of the weather," she hissed. It was looking

so boring the more she got agitated and it kept pissing her off, she couldn't help sighing heartily all through. "Does it mean this Zara girl bewitched me? Why is that worry on my face and nerves all over my body that something would be messed up if I didn't give her a chance by showing care and love to her?"

"I paid the caterer to serve today. I have already invited my friends over. I told them that this would be the best engagement party ever and assuredly they are going to have a blast party," she paused. What would become of my wish if it rains today and now the eleventh hour and surely will ruin the party?" She thought. She walked abruptly to the balcony as she had someone beckoned her name and the other whispered her name "madam Olorokpe" she turned instinctively. It was resounding notifications she got from two of her friends and business associates. She freed herself and cleared off all suspicious nervousness in her looks.

Now that she had calmed down. She tried harder not to lose her guard. There was rushing wind, people trooping into her compound. Madam Olorokpe was rich, prominent, and of high status quo. She was impertinent about lazy people. She was fashionable and love beautiful things. She had built good reputation and affluence over the years.

She fell in love with Zara the first day her son introduced Zara to her. But she never showed it. Zara reminded her of her daughter who was pretty young and innocent who died in the cold hands of death after a brief illness on her second birthday despite her effort to save her. Ever since then she had wished to have her back. Not after her husband died few months after in a ghastly car accident. Tope was the only reason she had survived. Zara was that kind of noble, careful, cheerful, charming and virtuous woman she had wanted for her son.

Zara's one quality that never ceased to drive her psycho was how she greeted her and immediately she saw a chair in a disorderly manner she kept it in order. She was surprised that Zara could do such even in a place she had never been before. That attitude described her hardworking spirit. She acknowledged her good virtue unlike modern day girls who chose to live rude and overwhelming pompous lifestyle read also My mannerless sister-in-law hence Zara was different.

She had brushed the idea off whenever Tope discussed about his intentions to make her part of him. On several occasions he had made her to know that he was in love with her but Zara saw it as mere say. She saw the possibility of being together with Tope forever as a running star which couldn't be reached. She never imagined them as husband and wife. And his effort to  convince her turned abortive.

She had her reasons as tribal differences, Chizaram Ichie was Igbo and Tope Olu Yoruba. She still had in mind the attitude Tope's mother gave her the last time Tolu took her home, "maame meet Zara, my friend, Zara meet maame my precious jewel," he said turning instinctively to Zara as he made the introduction. He mopped in Zara's eyes and Zara looked at Tope mother's face to see her reaction. And ever since then she had never dreamt of visiting Tope, the reason she had kept to herself alone without letting Tope know and she couldn't shake it off neither.

It happened that on that day after Tope's introduction immediately they had eye contact of eyeball to eyeball as their eyes locked instantaneously to each other and shortly Zara was first to withdraw her eyes and gazed in the empty space as if she was counting air. Yet the sky was too far to hide as her shell. "Tope you said she is...." Tope's mother stuttered and stunted after clicking her eyes on her.

Zara did all she could to avoid Tope not until one day, Tope discussed it with his mom and she came up with this. "Propose to her" she lit-up her face and smiled clearing her throat. He expected her to swallow her words instead she continued. " I will sponsor the engagement party," she declared. She confessed her sincere love for her and professed she would do anything to have her as a daughter in-law.

"I'm very sick and I have been in the hospital for days now," Tope sent her a message. She tried to telephone him but he didn't pick the telephone ringing. It was not his plan to talk with her on phone so he ignored her phone calls. She had no choice than to dress up quickly in a colourful pink gown with heel pair of red shoes leaving her long hair flagging in the air . She took her purse and zoomed off. When she moved in a panting heavily with so much momentum into the compound with the intention to get the address to the hospital because he couldn't give her the opportunity to know the location of the supposed hospital.

On her rush, she saw a different and confusing situation. It was supposed to be mourning for his mother instead she gave her a warm smile coming to embarrass her. She stunned Zara with her show of love. The guests were seated already and the cloud had given up and lost interest to spoil the day with rain. It was becoming more fascinating for Tope who was watching them like an excited spectator and at the same time railing against anything that would want to distract him from seeing the most captivating movie ever.

Zara was looking at Tope's mother, worries in her eyes and confused locking her lips sealed until Tope suddenly came down from the duplex and shined his white thirty-two. He came forth presenting a ring to Zara. "Now kneel down and propose to me," Tope said. The peoples frowned at it. This didn't go down well with Zara. Though the ring was still with Tope; she didn't understand the display. "What sort of joke is this? I never knew you as a clown," she thought loudly in her mind and still remained mute.

The scene was coming to its climax and suddenly he knelt down, he was on the way to propose but before he could open his mouth she had already brought out her finger and he slided the ring. There was laughter, tittering, and rapturous applause in the compound.

Things you should expect when you connect with your spot

Get out of the rat race. After all, if you win, you will simply be the big rat. Stop running in the competition. The only person you should compete with is yourself. "how well am I performing in my leadership spot," is what you should ask yourself. You have to know that the battery does not compete with a spark plug, because the battery knows the spark plug can never be a battery, and so on. They sit in the engine in their spots and serve the engine their gift without competing

Why does negative behaviour continue?

It works. There is some kind of payoff, some type of momentary satisfaction that is derived from not changing. The reward might be financial or psychological. Some people will continue unproductive behaviour to seek approval, acceptance, praise, or love. Others continue their unacceptable actions out of pride, greed or a sense of personal fulfilment. They may oppress others with their need to always be right because they treasure being right- even if it destroys a relationship.

Adding value to other people is the work of a positive influencer

As you move up to the higher levels of influence and become an active influencer, you can begin to have a positive influence on people and add value on their lives. That's true for any positive influencer. The baby-sitter who reads to the child encourages him to love books and helps him become a lifelong learner. The teacher who puts his faith, confidence, and love on a child helps the child to feel valued and good about herself. That boss who delegates to the employees and gives them authority as well as responsibility enlarges their horizons and empowers them to become better workers and people. Even the parents who know how to give their children grace and when to, also help them to stay open and communicative. All of these people add lasting value to the lives of other people. One thing is this, we don't know what kind of influence you have on others, today as you read this article. Your actions may touch the lives of thousands of people. Perhaps you use the opportunity
